As the Community Service Director at Raffles Interact, she’s been at the heart of organizing big events like the RI Mentorship Workshop, helping underprivileged kids build life skills. She also took part in the Batam International Understanding Trip, sharing lessons with kids at Bethesda Orphanage and getting hands-on with meaningful projects.
These experiences reflect a deep empathy and a strong sense of purpose — qualities that, Yi Tong says, were also nurtured in the classroom. “At PMC, we were always encouraged to see the bigger picture, not just memorise, but understand. That mindset helped me shape the way I mentor and lead.”

Volunteering with NKF, Assisi Hospice, and TSP, Yi Tong has touched lives by offering support to patients and those facing tough times. Whether it’s lending an ear or helping with practical needs, she’s always there for others.

Always curious about Medicine, Yi Tong took on the LKC Anatomy Challenge, diving into study methods like Anki flashcards, 3D models, and mnemonics. Her hard work paid off with a Merit medal, and her love for Anatomy grew even stronger.

These moments demanded patience, clarity, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. “PMC helped me develop that calmness,” she reflects. “When we face difficult questions in Chemistry, we’re trained to pause, think through the logic, and respond with confidence. That approach carries over into life.”
