What we did in 2 hours:
We have covered all the concepts of Mass, Weight and Density in the last lesson. Though its a pretty short and relatively easy topic to digest, do remember the key difference between mass and weight, and take note that inertia depends on mass only. Also, do spend time to revise how to calculate density especially for the more challenging questions.
What you take home:
Classic story of how Archimedes uses the concept of density to test if a crown was really made of gold.

However, this could be the real story of Archimedes, the concepts here are abit more advanced but interesting nonetheless.

Special Mention:
In the next lesson, we are going to embark on an illuminating journey through the topic of Light!

What we did in 2 hours:
This week, we have completed the entire chapter on Surds. More specifically, we practised the skillset on:
- Rationalising fractional surds (1 term)
- Rationalising fractional surds (more than 1 term)
We used this skillset to solve some interesting word problems, highlighting major misconceptions and common careless mistakes.
What you take home:
Please do the Take Home Questions on Surds page 29 – 31. These questions will further reinforce the concepts went through in class and will help you prepare for higher level questions in the next lesson where we wrap up on both Indices and Surds.

For additional practice questions: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6bhiua0kkwwlrga/Daily%20Dose%20on%20Indices%20And%20Surds.pdf?dl=0
Special Mention:
Average score of Test A: 6.2/10
Highest score: 10/10 [Joelle Woon from MGS – Beauty World Outlet]
Test scores have been uploaded to your student portal. There will be another test on the next lesson after our CNY break. Do get ready for it!!

What we did in 2 hours:
We completed our chapter on atomic structure, focusing on counting of subatomic particles given hypothetical isotopes and ions. We also completed a Quick Fire round in which we attempted a data-based question. Check your scores which will be uploaded onto the student portal, the Quick Fire round will be gone through in the next lesson.
What you take home:
Do practice the questions in the Take Home Gems as they will help reinforce your learning and get used to question styles for your upcoming weighted assessments.
Special Mention:
Have a good break, and we will be back to explore an important chapter on Chemical Bonding & Properties
Wishing you and your family a happy lunar new year!”
Thank you.
