WHAT WE DID IN 2 HOURS

Forget about the long listing method that you learnt in Primary School to find common factors between numbers. We have learnt two new efficient ways to find Highest Common Factor (HCF) and Lowest Common Multiple of two or more numbers — 1. Ladder Division   2. Prime Factorisation.

We have also learnt to find square roots and cube roots without the use of a calculator. What’s the secret…..? Prime Factorisation!

Do visit this link to find out the quick trick to check if a number is divisible by another number (e.g. Is 123456789 divisible by 3?).

https://www.mathsisfun.com/divisibility-rules.html

Knowing these rules will definitely help to speed up your prime factorisation process!

WHAT YOU TAKE HOME

Do remember to complete your homework (Prime Factorisation: Take Away Questions 1 to 7).

SPECIAL MENTION

We will be having a TEST on Real Numbers and Prime Factorisation in the next lesson.

Revise your notes and ace the test. See you!
