[S4] Term 2 Week 3 (6-12 Apr) Updates/ Debrief

[S4 Physics PMCians]

What we did in 2 hours:

We completed the MYE Set A Paper 1 discussion.

The tutors were happy to know that many of you have tried the paper 1 beforehand and hence were able to raise knowledge-building questions. Although this LIVE tutorial is different from the physically classes, the tutors witnessed the same enthusiasm given by all of you and the group chat were very lively with you giving feedback and asking questions.

Kudos to all!!

Besides going through the paper 1, we have completed a LIVE chat challenge where many of you have managed to earn some points through answering the challenging questions. Do remember, for Kinematics questions, we always love to draw the v-t graph as our first step to approach the questions!

We ended off our LIVE tutorial by breaking into different rooms to compete and complete the usual 4Q team challenge.

What you take home:

Before the respective LIVE tutorial sessions begin this coming weekend (18 and 19th April), we would like to invite all of you to complete the online webcast lecture on MYE Revision Set B. Do remember to download (and print, if you can) the MYE Set B paper 1 and paper 2, which are available on the webcast website.

Special Mention:

Though we may not have our usual face-to-face sessions where you could stay back to ask your tutor questions or share a thought, we are always with you and we will render our full support to your learning in Physics. So, if you have any question(s) to ask, feel free to send them to 9100 1235

Meanwhile, stay safe, stay home and, of course, stay awesome!!!

Always with you for your Physics Learning,

The S4PH team (Mr Wong, Dr Li and Mr Gary)

What we did in 2 hours:

We completed 2 sessions of LIVE tutorials to review the concept of INTEGRATION. We love to see that all of you are active and engaged in LIVE tutorials.

During the tutorials, we revised the 3 types of integration and its application:

  1. Algebraic functions
  2. Trigonometric functions
  3. Exponential functions

Besides having CHAT CHALLENGE, we also had KAHOOT QUIZ to keep our tutorial interactive and fun.

What you take home:

Daily Dose of Integration

 Special Mention:

We will be doing revision for secondary 3 topic next LIVE. See you in ZOOM.

Thank you.

What we did in 2 hours:

We explored the chemical properties of carboxylic acids and learnt the names of the carboxylate ion and how it translates to the naming of esters.

E.g. propyl ethanoate is made up by propanol and ethanoic acid

What you take home:

We have nearly completed the chapter on alcohol and carboxylic acids. Please attempt all the questions in the Take Home Gems in preparation for class next week. Selected questions in the package will be elaborated on.

Special Mention:

Here’s an infographic on the variety of aroma that can be obtained from different esters.

Regards,

Mr Jacob
