[S4] Lesson 29 (Thermal Year End Revision + Trigonometry Part 1 + Redox & Metals EOY )

[S4 Physics PMCians]

What we did in 2 hours:

On the 18th and 19th Jul, the S4PH has come together to cover the following during our weekly lesson:

1) Recap on the concept 1 and 2 of the Thermal Physics I (Temperature and Thermal Properties of Matter)

2) The Final Lap I – Structured Questions 1 to 5

3) 5Q Quiz

Always remember:

1) There are three different formula for thermal energy, namely: Q = m c (change in T), Q = m l, and Q = P x t

2) If you are given two different bodies interacting together through heat transfer, do make a point to list out all the possible Q before solving the questions.

What you take home:

We will start on Thermal Physics Lesson 3 where we will look at how to tackle questions related to conduction, convection and radiation.

Special Mention:

Should you have any questions, please feel free to send in your questions (and attempted workings) to 9100 1235. We will do our utmost to assist you in the questions. If you have any upcoming test or examination and would like to re-watch any of the past videos, do whats-app to 9100 1235 to inquire!!

Take care and Always with you,

What we did in 2 hours:

We started on Trigonometry Revision this week. We discussed the various types of question and went on to our final lap questions, focusing mainly on evaluating and solving trigonometry ratio.

We recapped the special angles needed for evaluating trigonometry ratio and learn the technique to comprehend different identities to the desired ratio questions and solve accordingly.

All of you have the ability to recognise similar type of questions and acquire the logical reasoning skill to solve questions at the end of lesson. Well done!

 Special Mention:

Next week, we will continue on Trigonometry Revision, it’s a major chapter that we need more practice. We will focus more on solving trigonometry equation and R-formula. Enjoy your holiday and see you in class for the weekend. Don’t forget you have 1 credit to bring along a friend with you for our lesson. Take care!

What we did in 2 hours:

We have completed our revision on Metals Part I. Remember to view any reactions involving metals as displacement reactions which is an effective technique to analyze these reactions instead of memorising them.

What you take home:

You are now able to complete the Take Home Package of Metals up to Pg 6 and Q2 and Q3 of Section B. Do clarify your doubts in the following lessons!

Special Mention:

We will be starting our revision on the Blast Furnace process, rusting and ways of protecting iron from rusting. Here’s a quick infographic/fun fact on iron as a metal!
