[S2 Maths + Science PMCians]
What we did in 2 hours:
This week we had our Physics Headstart on Thin Lenses.
In this lesson, we learnt the important terms (optical centre, principal axis, focal point and focal length) used to describe a thin converging lens and how to construct the ray diagrams for thin converging lenses with rays that behave in a predictable way.
– any light ray passing through the optical centre is not refracted
– any light ray parallel to the principal axis will converge at the focal point.
The position and characteristics (real/virtual, inverted/upright, diminished/magnified) of the image can then be identified.
Lastly, we ended the lesson with a fun 4Q quiz.
Special Mention:
This is our last Headstart lesson for 2020 S2 to 2021 S3. You certainly deserve a break after all the hard work.
Till then, enjoy your school holidays. Stay safe and healthy.
See you again in December! 🙂
