[J2] Lesson 39 (EMI Grade A Questions 2 + Grade A Questions – Calculus 1 + Prelim Revision – Chemical Bonding)

[J2 Physics PMCians]  EMI (Grade A) Revision Part 2

What we did in 2 hours:

This week, we continued Part 2 of our Grade A questions on Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) & AC
In this lesson, we discussed applications using EMI, such as how our EZ-link card works, being powered by induced emf when we tap on the reader.  We also reviewed concepts on Alternating Current (AC).

What you take home:

EMI+AC Grade A Test 4  (for reference only)
Grade A Resource Folder:

Special Mention:

Next lesson, we will complete our Grade A questions on Thermal Physics.
Till then, keep safe and stay healthy!
See you all next week.
From you friendly tutors,
Mr Sim & Mr Kwok 🙂

What we did in 2 hours:

Clearing our last bit on Vectors, we then moved on to Calculus. At this point, we want to be very familiar with all of our Vector properties and formulae, and be ready to apply them based on the key descriptions in a question, which are often geometric – perpendicular? area of triangle? given ratios? Additionally, for questions with a given diagram, be ready to read off any vectors directly from the length information!

Our practice in calculus once again reminded us to be confident managing unknown parameters. Always be ready to spend more time and energy dealing with the graphing and geometric parts of the question, moreso with the parametric equations. Differentiating is the easy part!

What you take home:

Term 4 Quiz J solutions and Quiz K have been updated into this link:

Special Mention:

Quizzes will now involve 6 questions, keep up the practice! We will carry on with Calculus for our revision this week.

See You and Stay Healthy!

What we did in 2 hours:

We have started our revision on Chemical Bonding and tackled some of the harder questions in this chapter. This chapter is huge, and many students historically find it hard as many concepts overlap with those in Periodic Table.

Special Mention:

Next lesson, we shall complete our revision on Chemical Bonding and tackle some of the harder Physical Chemistry questions. If you have received your Prelim papers and wish to discuss your strategy moving forward, feel free to approach me before or after your lesson!

Stay healthy!
