[J2] Lesson 27 (Quantum Physics Revision + Graphing Techniques + Organic Chemistry)

[J2 Physics PMCians] Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) – Where’s my e.m.f.?

What we did in 2 hours:

Our 2 hours were spent reviewing the 2 cases of inducing an emf:

Case (1) Inducing emf in a COIL

Case (2) Inducing emf in a MOVING ROD.

We showed you how to use Faraday’s law to calculate the emf, and also how to determine the direction of Induced current using Lenz’s Law (if any).

Special Mention:

Next week, we begin our revision for the final topic – Quantum Physics!!

It has been a while since we looked at this topic, so it’s a good time to review!!

Stay happy and rested, in the midst of your busy schedule!!

What we did in 2 hours:

Our last round of Pure Math revision moves on to Graphing Techniques and Functions, with Graphing Techniques the focus first. We recalled the properties of Conics (Ellipses and Hyperbolas) and Rational Functions, together with techniques for all the transformed graphs.

We also looked at questions involving Asymptotes of rational functions and how discriminant can be applied. Additionally, we went through a classic application of parametric graphs.

What you take home:

Worked solutions for Q4&5 and Take-Away solutions are linked here.

Special Mention:

We move on this week to Functions, which is anything but fun. Be prepared and warm-up all the basic terminologies and ideas!

What we did in 2 hours:

This week, we have completed Organic Synthesis, and delved into higher order reaction mechanisms

What you take home:

The solutions to Homework Questions and Page 18 of Organic Synthesis is found here:

Special Mention:

Next lesson, we will finish the mechanisms for Nucleophilic Substitution and Nucleophilic Addition. Let us also look at drawing mechanisms for Novel Reactions. Gentle reminder to collect your notes at our outlet during our opening hours if you wish to continue your lessons online.

See you online/onsite!
