[J2] Lesson 21 (25 – 31 May) Updates/ Debrief

[J2 Physics PMCians]Strengthening our Thermodynamic skills!!

What we did in 2 hours:

We expanded our revision on Thermal Physics, by showing how the equation for pressure and average KE are derived. We then tried many more questions to strengthen our understanding and application of Thermal Physics!

What you take home:

1) Solutions to Thermal Physics resources:

  1. Thermal Physics Round 2
  2. 8Q Quiz
  3. Thermal Physics Take-Away Answers

2) Thermal Physics Daily Dose

For your personal revision. The answers and working are at the back:

Special Mention:

The first two of our J2PH Revision Programme are available on the JC2 Physics Lecture Webcast portal.

Please be reminded that the next 2 revision sessions will be this coming Wednesday (27 May) & Thursday (28 May) at 10am.

We look forward to seeing all of you in the Live Lesson!

Till then, have a good week ahead!! 🙂

What we did in 2 hours:

Our lesson first covered the use of sample data to generate unbiased estimates of the population mean and variance. After which, this was applied in a Hypothesis Test.

We learnt the definitions, process and application of a Hypothesis Test. These included terms such as p-values, test statistics and levels of significance. As we firm up our skills regarding the process and presentation of this test, we will next move on to application in a wider range of problems.

What you take home:

The Daily Dose for Hypothesis Testing and the worked solutions are linked here.

Special Mention:

We will complete the rest of the Hypothesis Testing chapter this week, and finish our H2 Math syllabus!

[J2 Chemistry PMCians] Full Steam Ahead!

What we did in 2 hours:

All thanks to our additional lesson, we did major revision this week! We have completed the revision for KineticsEnergetics and Equilibrium. Do remember to check out the additional webcast on Entropy and Gibbs free energy before it is taken down!

What you take home:

In order to prepare you well for your Prelims, you will notice that you are provided with Homework which reinforces the concepts we have gone through in class. Do try them out regularly and hand in for additional feedback. The solutions will be released weekly.

Solutions to selected structured questions are found here:

Equilibrium: https://tinyurl.com/y877cnfo

Special Mention:

Revision continues next week with Acid Base Equilibrium.

Cheers!
