[J1] Term 2 Week 4 (13-19 Apr) Updates/ Debrief

[J1 Physics PMCians] It’s Newton’s 2nd Law for Accelerated Motion!!

What we did in 2 hours:

During our recent Live Tutorial, we reviewed Newton’s 2nd Law, and the different problem solving skills needed. We covered questions involving graphs, and of course, the typical questions that require the need to draw Free-Body diagrams.

What you take home:

1) Solutions for Dynamics Test E Live Chat

For your reference:

2) Solutions for Test F Breakout Room Challenge

Special Mention:

Next tutorial, we will review the 2nd part of Dynamics, the Conservation of Linear Momentum.

Please ensure that you have completed watching the Dynamics Webcast Lecture 2 before our tutorial (located under the course : JC1 Physics Lesson 12-15 as shown below).

Till we meet again, enjoy your HBL and stay healthy!!

What we did in 2 hours:

Webcast:

The lesson goes through applying AP GP to complicated application questions. Do note how the general term can be found using the sum, and be careful with all modelling type questions!

LIVE:

Our final functions examples, which are full-fledged promo style questions. AP GP was at a more introductory level, but this week will be tougher!

What you take home:

In this current learning format, your materials will be uploaded to your folders at pmc.sg/lecture , so do check regularly.

Special Mention:

This week on LIVE, we focus on AP GP, with the difficulty ramped up a notch. I’m sure you’re all eager to try them!

See You (online) and Stay Healthy!

[J1 Chemistry PMCians]

What we did in 2 hours:

This lesson, we have begun the first of the three-part series on Chemical Energetics. In specifics, we looked at

  1. A recap on enthalpy changes
  2. Calculations involving energetics calculations
  3. The 10 definitions of enthalpy changes

We have also trained you to be fast and accurate in the calculations. Do apply the techniques when it comes to your tutorials and quizzes!

The challenge questions for functions are indeed challenging! Promo style questions will challenge you in various ways, especially in terms of graphs. So do be prepared.

Special Mention:

Next lesson, let us complete the ten definitions of enthalpy change so that we can apply them in energy cycles governed by the Hess’ Law.

See you in class next week and take good care of yourself!
