[J1] Lesson 23 (Kinematics + Functions + Atomic Strucutre)

[J1 Physics PMCians] Aceing Kinematics the Smart way!

What we did in 2 hours:

This week, we started our Mid-Year revision, beginning with Kinematics

Starting from how to sketch the displacementvelocity and acceleration graphs, we moved on to using the kinematics equations the professional way and applied them to projectile motion

Special Mention:

In our next LIVE tutorial, we will continue our Revision Program for your upcoming Common Test on the topic of FORCES.

Till we meet soon, have a restful and productive week ahead.

What we did in 2 hours:

Our Mid-Year revision moved on to functions, where we recapped ideas regarding the rule, domain and range of a function, Additionally, we looked at inverse and composite functions, including conditions for these to exist.

The examples showed the importance of using the mapping method to find the range of a composite function, and we also explored extension type questions like Identity functions and piecewise functions. Also, never forget that graphing accuracy will help you get the details you need!

Special Mention:

This week, we will move on to Graphing Techniques for our revision. Keep your tutors updated on your scheme of work!

[J1 Chemistry PMCians] At the Atomic Level

What we did in 2 hours:

We revised Atomic Structure, where we looked at key concepts commonly tested. Concepts including angle of deflection of charged particles in an electric field, electronic configurations of atoms and ions, ionisation energies, atomic/ionic radius and electronegativity of atoms are touched upon.

What you take home:

The solutions to Q13 to Q15 of the booklet, and Test Yourself, are found here:

Special Mention:

Next week, we shall revise the Gaseous State and Chemical Bonding.

See you (online)!
