[J1] Lesson 20 (18 – 24 May) Updates/ Debrief

[J1 Physics PMCians] Gravitational Attraction & J1PH May Revision Program

What we did in 2 hours:

This week, we started investigating the concepts of Gravitation, where 2 masses always exert a gravitational pull on each other. We are quite used to the feeling that Earth is always holding us to the ground but in our daily experience, we hardly notice the gravitational pull between us and the people around us. This is because the Gravitational constant is very small. We explored the ideas of gravitational field strength (g)potential energy (GPE) and lastly potential, together with their uses.

May Revision Program :

We just completed our 8-hour revision program across the past two Mondays! Kudos to all students!!

During the revision program, we reviewed the topics of Measurement, Kinematics, Forces, Dynamics, WEP & Circular Motion. However, we took time to tackle structured questions so that all our students would know how to answer free-response questions.  The recorded sessions are available on the Lecture Webcast page.

What you take home:

1) May Revision Program Resources (for reference only)

Here is the link to all the resources used during the revision.

Special Mention:

In our next LIVE tutorial, we will review the concepts in Gravitation and let your try solving questions with those concepts.

Gentle reminder that there will be NO Lecture Webcast for this week.

Till we meet again, stay rested and strong! 🙂

[J1 Maths PMCians]

What we did in 2 hours:

Applications of Differentiation! Much like what you did in secondary school, with fancier (tougher) equations to manage.

What you take home:

Try-It questions for the parametric equations in Techniques of Differentiation are linked here:

Special Mention:

We carry on with the other applications of differentiation this week.

Also, do note that Additional Lesson (Vectors) is this Thursday, do check your student portal for the announcement on Monday regarding this if you have not already done so.

[J1 Chemistry PMCians] Are you maintaining equilibrium in your life?

What we did in 2 hours:

We have completed the chapter on Chemical Equilibrium, where we finished up the last few harder calculation questions, and discussed what happens when you exert a change on a equilibrium system through the use of Le Chatelier’s Principle

What you take home:

The solutions to the Everything you need to know series and reading exercise is found here:

Special Mention:

Next lesson onwards, we will begin on Chemical Kinetics, which looks at the speed of reactions.

See you!
