[S4] Lesson 37 (Electricity Part 2: Practical Electricity Year End Revision + Mock Exam L1 + Atmosphere & Ammonia EOY L1)

[S4 Physics PMCians]

What we did in 2 hours:

On 12 and 13 Sep, the S4 PH has come together to complete the following:

1) Secret Enclosed – Electricity Concept 4, 7 and 8

2) The Final Lap – Electricity MCQ 18 to 22

3) The Final Lap 2 – DC Circuit MCQ 1 to 12 and Structured Qn 17

Quick Summary

1. a) Power = VI or I2R or V2/R – this formula is usually used to comment on the brightness of the light bulbs
2. b) E = Pt, do remember to that kWh is usually used when you are calculating for cost of electrical energy consumption
3. c) Safety Features of Fuse, Switch, Earth wire are important key concepts to remember

All solutions to questions 13 to 16 for this week’s Final Lap 2 are made available for you at the shared folder.

What you take home:

In this coming week (Sept 19 and 20), we will finish our revision for COE /DC with more questions discussions.

Do remember to always bring your Secret Enclosed AND the revision books for all lessons.

Special Mention:

Should you need assistance in your daily practices in Physics, do send your attempted workings and questions to 9005 1733.

What we did in 2 hours:

This week we started our mock exam series. We had Algebra Lap 1 test and follow on to discuss Lap 2 together. Topics involves are indices, surd, exponential, logarithm, quadratic function and polynomial.

Special Mention:

We are moving on to Set C and Set D next week, focusing mainly on Coordinate Geometry. Do remember to bring your Secret Enclosed too. See you either in zoom or onsite!

[S4 Chemistry PMCians]

What we did in 2 hours:

We have completed our revision on Atmosphere & Pollutants. You are now equipped with essential problem solving processes on interpreting data based questions involving air/fuel ratio and pollutant levels of cars (i.e. low AFR, low air, low oxygen, high levels of incomplete combustion, low temperature of engine, high amounts of CO, low amounts of NOx and vice versa).

What you take home:

You should begin attempting the take home questions on Atmopshere and bring questions to clarify in class, if any!

Special Mention:

We will be kickstarting our revision on ammonia, examining reversible reactions and the Haber Process, as well as attempting some challenging data based questions! See you in class this weekend!
