[J1] Term 2 Week 3 (6-12 Apr) Updates/ Debrief

[J1 Physics PMCians] PMCians are a Force to be reckoned with!!

What we did in 2 hours:

We completed 2 sessions of LIVE tutorials to review the 2 Condition for Equilibrium, and to put to practice the problem-solving skills required.  Although different from the physical classes, we observed that PMCians took naturally and enthusiastically to the LIVE Tutorials! Kudos to all!!

Quick recap: we revised the 2 conditions for equilibrium :

1) net Force = 0

2) net Moment about ANY point = 0.

Besides answering quiz questions, we also had team challenges in the Breakout Rooms, ending with Kahoot quiz.

What you take home:

1) Daily Dose for Forces

Special Mention:

Next week, we will start our revision on Dynamics

Please ensure that you have completed watching the Dynamics Webcast Lecture 1 before our tutorial.

Till then, stay safe and be blessed! See you soon.

See you all next lesson!!

What we did in 2 hours:

Hi again from your tutors! Firstly, we’d like to thank all of you for making the transition to virtual learning a smooth one, and for being the same (if virtual) personalities we see, intermittent lag issues and all 🙂

Webcast:

Finishing off with further applications of composite functions, the chapter of functions is brought to a close. Remember, keep brushing up your Graphing Techniques to better manage this chapter! We also start on APGP, which will be the bigger focus when we do our LIVE lesson this week.

LIVE:

The challenge questions for functions are indeed challenging! Promo style questions will challenge you in various ways, especially in terms of graphs. So do be prepared.

What you take home:

In this current learning format, your materials will be uploaded to your folders at pmc.sg/lecture , so do check regularly.

Special Mention:

This week on LIVE, we will clear a final couple of questions for functions, and do some challenges on APGP. SS trained students, time to shine!

See You (online) and Stay Healthy!

Your Friendly Math Tutors

What we did in 2 hours:

The past few weeks have been interesting – within a span of a week, we have brought physical tuition lessons into the virtual world, and for the next couple of weeks, you will be seeing me through the screen!

This lesson, we have introduced the ideal gas equation, and looked at the various types of questions that uses them. We picked up shortcuts when it comes to dealing with systems of two different states, and also looked at how real gases deviate from ideal gases.

What you take home:

You should have received Take Home Questions and Everything you need to know series for The Gaseous State. The solutions and selected structured questions are found here:

Chemical Bonding: https://tinyurl.com/wfxek49

The Gaseous State: https://tinyurl.com/wpwvlqn

Special Mention:

In the next lesson, we will look at the Chemical Energetics, where we investigate how energy changes allow reactions to proceed. We will be performing many calculations (again) on enthalpy changes – do prepare your calculator!

Do note that for Chemistry, we will only be conducting the LIVE lesson at your allocated timeslot – there is no additional webcast to watch prior to the LIVE lesson.

This is a trying period for everyone. If you have any concerns or issues, do not hesitate to approach us through Whatsapp!

Take good care of yourself and see you!
